Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been accused of “killing children” by protesters while enjoying an early-morning coffee in Darwin.
On Wednesday morning, footage uploaded by protest group Free Palestine NT showed the Prime Minister being hurriedly escorted from a Stuart Park cafe.
However, as Mr Albanese made his way to his vehicle, a small but vocal group of protesters caught his attention.
“Albo, Albo you can’t hide, you’re supporting genocide!” a woman yells.
“You’re killing children Albo!” calls another.
One of the protesters can be seen holding a Palestinian flag as Mr Albanese, closely followed by his security detail, climbs into the back of his Toyota.
“We see you Albo!” a man yells.
“You’re committing genocide!”, shouts another.
It is not the first time that Mr Albanese has been greeted by protesters in the Top End.
In November, a heated clash at the Rydges Palmerston occurred when protesters gathered at the hotel to catch Mr Albanese’s attention.
A 51-year-old man was arrested in relation to the incident.
Mr Albanese and his Canberra frontbench touched down in the Top End this week to make various announcements, and also meet with Chief Minister Eva Lawler and her Territory government team.
