Darwin Festival is packed with events this week, with organisers offering a variety of fun activities for young and old alike.
From movie nights to stand up comedy, the next seven days shape as a prime opportunity to organise the babysitter and head out the door.
With plenty to choose from, festival organisers revealed their event recommendations for each day of the week.
Monday
Deckchair cinema will be screening the NT premier of ‘Kneecap’ - the real-life story of the anarchic Belfast rap group on a mission to save their mother tongue.
Featuring Michael Fassbender and Jessica Reynolds, the comedy-drama film explores themes around music and native culture in modern day Ireland.

Tuesday
Darwin’s very own Amy Hetherington will be bringing her comedy show ‘Territory Proud’ to the centre state at Festival Park before she heads off overseas for her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe.
A high energy, positive performer, Hetherington shapes as a favourite to connect with the local crowd.

Wednesday
Returning to the NT for the first time in 30 years is Brisbane rock band Custard, with hit favourites Apartment and Girls Like That (Don’t Go for Guys Like Us) locked-in.
With parents expected to flock to Festival Park, babysitters will be high demand on Wednesday evening.

Thursday
Under the lights at Darwin Entertainment Centre, journalist Shannon Molloy presents his coming-of-age show ‘Fourteen’.
Set to a nostalgic mixtape of 90s bangers, ‘Fourteen’ tells the story of Molloy’s inspirational true story of growing up gap in central Queensland, with plenty of humour and hard truth thrown in the mix.

Friday
A blend of international sounds will be echoing across Festival Park as the Darwin Port Bandstand hosts a number of international and Australian performers.
The joyful music also serves as the opening to the hilarious ‘Queer PowerPoint’ show, in which a group of Darwin creatives share their ideas, obsessions or ongoing fascinations using the most bland programming tool available - PowerPoint.

Saturday
An interactive spectacle full of slapstick comedy, The Whale’s Tale is the perfect show for young children to take a deep breath and dive inside the jaws of Manilayo - the humpback whale.
Set on the lawns of the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT, The Whale’s Tale is sure to be a big hit among the Territory’s young minds.

The fun doesn’t stop there, however, with festival goers encouraged to jump in the car and head out to Goyder Park for the Palmerston Laugh Out Loud show featuring a line-up of comedy all stars, including Merrick Watts, Nikki Britton, Kelly Gulliver and more.

Sunday
Australian icon, political activist and living legend Carlotta is enjoying her 80th year on the road.
The inspiration for hit movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Australia’s most beloved showgirl will take centre stage at Festival Park, accompanied by a three-piece band led by Helpmann Award winner Michael Griffiths.
