Mine site guests need to be supervised at all times while on the property – but one scaly visitor was given a wide berth during his stay.
Territory TikTok creator Koehn – @koehn.13 – captured the moment a 3m croc strolled through an NT gold mine during a late night shift.
The predator can be seen in the footage crawling over loose dirt before sliding into a muddy puddle near some mining equipment.
“This wasn’t in the induction,” Koehn said in the video.
The video had a viral moment, gaining more than 80,000 views.
Answering questions from hundreds of curious commenters, the video creator said the site was about 100km south of Darwin.
“Pretty sure he got kicked out of the small dam by a bigger croc heading towards the bigger dam – (it’d) be half a kilometre from one to the other,” he wrote.
Viewers flocked to the video to marvel at the strange sight, with some speculating on whether the massive reptile was properly prepared for an excursion through the mines.
“Not wearing any of the appropriate PPE, he should be kicked off site immediately,” one user wrote.
“You need to get HR onto him for not having his high vis and safety boots on,” another wrote.
Koehn put their concerns to bed, saying he was pretty sure the croc would “get off with a warning this time”.
