A 14-year-old is set to face court after stealing a car in Katherine before driving to Edith Falls on Thursday.
NT Police Northern Watch Commander Len Turner said the 14-year-old remained in custody after pouncing on the car while the driver was inside a service station.

“(Thursday morning) a female had gone to the Service station on Katherine Tce, she went inside the servo and while inside the fourteen year old was walking past, he saw the vehicle jumped in and drove away,” he said.
“A couple of hours later the car was located at Edith Falls in that area there and he was arrested, charged and he should be appearing in court at some stage.”
Two more youths have been taken into custody after stealing a car from the Palmerston care facility they were living at.
“One of the youths managed to enter the office where the keys were kept and he stole the keys and gave them to the other youth,” Cmdr Turner said.
“The other youth stole the car and Police were notified when they arrived and were talking to the victims.

“The stolen car was returned to the location for an unknown reason it was then apprehended.” The two youths now remain in custody while Police finish investigations.
