THE man suspected of being behind a push to establish an Outlaws bikie gang chapter in Darwin is out on bail after being charged with supplying drugs.

Shannon Bonner, 27, faced Darwin Local Court on Wednesday alongside co-offenders Mitchell Chandler, 25, and Caroline Debusch, 20, after they were arrested in Palmerston in December last year.

The trio have each been charged with possessing and supplying a commercial quantity of a schedule two drug.

Bonner and Debusch were also charged with possessing less than a trafficable quantity of a schedule two drug, and possessing property for the use of commissioning an offence.

All three have since been released on bail under the condition that they regularly report to police and not leave the greater Darwin area.

It comes after Shannon Bonner was named in a Darwin Supreme Court hearing for fellow Outlaws supporter Sakellarious Tsagaris.

Tsagaris was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment last year for possessing and supplying commercial quantities of MDMA and cocaine, and the court heard he had been visited in prison by Bonner a number of times.

Crown prosecutor for the case against Tsagaris Collette Dixon told the court at the time that police believed Bonner to be behind a push to establish an Outlaws chapter in Darwin.

“I understand that he has been visited while in prison on 19 separate occasions by Shannon Bonner, who intelligence suggests he, alongside his brother Paul Bonner, are the main people behind a push to establish an Outlaw motorcycle chapter in Darwin,” Ms Dixon said.

Both Bonner and Tsagaris are part of a group who have been openly flaunting Outlaws club regalia in Darwin.

Police sources say an Outlaws chapter in Darwin would mark a significant shift in the bikie landscape in Darwin, and could prompt a turf war between the newcomers and their traditional rivals, the Hells Angels

Bonner will return to court next month.
