DISGRACED sports scientist Stephen Dank’s legal bill will now likely be footed by the NT taxpayer after he applied for legal aid, a court has heard.
During a brief hearing in the Darwin Local Court yesterday, Crown prosecutor David Morters SC asked for a 12-week adjournment to continue to gather evidence in the “extremely complicated” case.
Mr Morters said there was a large amount of material and information yet to be collected, including medical records from patients interstate.

Dank is facing charges including unlawfully causing serious harm and fraud and Mr Morters said there was still the potential for further charges to be laid in relation to “doctored scripts” in Western Australia.
He will return to court on May 6.
