With the poll complete and the votes counted, we have crowned the Northern Territory’s Best Mullet of 2023.
From 33 entrants and hundreds of votes, Charlie Jones is the winner of this year’s best mullet, blitzing the field, picking up 15 per cent of the total votes.
“My mullet rocks,” the nine-year-old said.
“It’s awesome because my older brother (Micky) came second a few years ago so it’s good to beat him.
“This is my second mullet.
“I had my first when I was six but it got chopped off.
“I’ve had this one for nearly a year and no one is allowed to touch it.”
Described as an “absolute larrikin” and “lovely boy” by his mum Karen Harlan, Charlie isn’t the only one rocking the do in his household.
“All of them have one,” Ms Harlan said.
“Both of his older brothers have one and his dad just started growing his out again.”
From Tennant Creek, Charlie and his mullet can be seen mucking around with his mates and older brothers, out at the speedway and causing mischief.
“I like to party,” Charlie said.
“I also love to do ‘crocies’ (a shoey with soft drink) in my Crocs.”
