A WOMAN is due to front court today after being charged with assaulting an ambulance officer while he was on duty.

A WOMAN is due to front court today after being charged with assaulting an ambulance officer while he was on duty.

It’s alleged on February 14 Selissa Kunoth called St. Johns ambulance service requesting the assistance of an ambulance.

One paramedic evaluated Ms Kunoth while the other man witnessed, but police allege she became agitated when being questioned during the assessment.

She attempted to walk away before being persuaded to finish the assessment, but became agitated again and went towards the house, it’s alleged.

According to police, the paramedic who evaluated her looked through the house window to see if there was a carer present for Ms Kunoth, when she allegedly screamed at him and picked up a cordless handset phone from the veranda.

Police allege she cocked it behind her head before she allegedly threw it at him, which hit him in the back of the head which caused pain and swelling.

Kunoth is due to appear in court on Friday.
