WA police have caught four Victorian residents allegedly sneaking into WA after travelling through the Northern Territory.
The group, consisting of two couples in their 60s travelling in two vehicles, were intercepted on Sunday morning on the Tanami Road in the desert region south of Halls Creek.
It is still unclear whether the group were permitted to be in the Territory and how long they spent in the region.
Police say the group entered a remote Aboriginal community without permission to do so, but did not say which state or territory this occured in.

It will be alleged the group didn’t have a G2G pass, which is a requirement for entry into WA from other states and territories.
Police say the group bypassed the required state border entry checkpoint on the main highway.
Inspector Peter Jenal told ABC Radio the group would likely face a fine regardless of whether their actions were deliberate or not.
“The bottom line is, it doesn’t matter whether they are doing the right thing, it’s just the fact that they didn’t have any application to come in,” he said.
“There was no G2G pass approved and they hadn’t applied for one, and that’s where they committed the offence coming into WA.”
When asked on Wednesday about the incident, NT Police Minister Nicole Manison said she wasn’t aware of the alleged cross-border breach.
But Ms Manison rejected calls for more personnel to be stationed at border crossings.
“We have got automatic number plate recognition – we’ve invested heavily in that over the last year,” she said.
“There are very big fines if you do not comply with our COVID-19 rules: $5,000 a person.”
