According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the central parts of the Northern Territory could experience more showers and thunderstorms in coming days due to continuing moist and unstable conditions.

“Meanwhile, a high pressure ridge developing over the Simpson District is pushing drier air steadily north, but there is currently little respite from the summer heat,” a recent statement said.

“Another trough moving over the Lasseter District from Thursday will see showers and thunderstorms return briefly to the southern districts, before cooler weather sweeps across Central Australia.

“Temperatures are likely to drop around 5-10 degrees towards the end of the week for Alice Springs and Yulara.”
