THREE youths allegedly involved in the hit-and-run that resulted in the death of Shane Powell in Alice Springs will have their matters heard in the Northern Territory Supreme Court.

On October 16 last year four people, aged 13 to 19, were charged after the allegedly stolen vehicle they were travelling in allegedly ran a red traffic light at the Larapinta intersection, colliding with a man riding his motorbike.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene, where 47-year-old Shane Powell suffered life- threatening injuries, which he later died from.

Two 19-year-old men, Jacob Long and Mick Edrick, and three youths — aged 13, 15 and 16 at the time — have since been charged with hit-and-run causing serious harm and failing to rescue or provide help.

The five teenagers are yet to enter a plea.

The three youths return to court on Thursday, while the 19-year-olds will return at a later date
