Police investigate overnight youth crime spree in Alice Springs

ALICE Springs police had a busy night tackling youth crime with police investigating incidents of rock throwing, intruders and a car crash.
According to Alice Springs Southers Watch Commander Adrian Kidney, police received reports of intruders at a block of units in the Gap at around 10.30pm last night.
Residents witnessed two males climbing the balcony to the unit block and looking into the window before sliding down a drain pipe and fleeing the area.
Patrols were conducted of the area but the offenders were not found.
At about 10.40pm, police responded to reports of youths throwing rocks at
a train.
A drone was deployed and directed police to a youth hiding in a block of units nearby.
The alleged offender was taken home.
Inquiries are continuing in relation to damage to the train and the alleged offender will be dealt with at a later date.
Then at about 5am, police attended a single vehicle crash on Gap Rd.
Witnesses reported several youths running from the scene, who police found a short distance away.
