A MAN has been hit in the head with a glass bottle after waking to find his home being broken into in Alice Springs overnight.
According to NT Police, a 20-year-old man was woken by the sound of three males breaking into his house in Gillen by smashing the glass door at around 1.40 this morning.
When he went to see what was happening, one of the trio hit him on the head with a glass bottle.
They then stole a number of cans of Bundaberg Rum.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises but was not seriously injured.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Gillen area overnight is urged to contact police.
