POLICE are looking for alleged thieves who broke into McDonalds in Alice Springs this week and stole hundreds of dollars in cash.

Southern Watch Commander Allan Milner said the fast food business was broken into between 11pm on Tuesday through to some time Wednesday morning.

“They’ve entered McDonald's through one of the serving windows in the drive-through without breaking the window,” he said.

“They slipped in after hours when the internal restaurant was closed down, and grabbed money out of the register.

“Police are yet to review the CCTV footage.

“Hopefully they will be able to identify them through that as they have some pretty good surveillance cameras.

“They were able to get away with a couple of hundred dollars.”

Police investigations are still underway.
