THE NT’s most fabulous festival, FABalice, is off to a roaring start, with organisers reporting more than a thousand people have turned out to the major annual celebration of drag, cabaret and comedy so far.

While the three-day Alice Springs festival is smaller this year due to COVID-19, its main events have been drawing big numbers, including many from interstate.

FABalice ambassador and drag queen Miss Ellaneous said the public response so far had been “incredible”.

“I think particularly in the NT, there’s great support for all forms of diversity and celebrating that diversity and showing that we are made up of many different types of people,” she said.

“Being able to dress up and express ourselves is wonderful.”
