POLICE are looking for people involved in the rollover of a car in Alice Springs on Friday morning after a car was found wrecked with nobody inside.

Emergency services were called to a single vehicle rollover on Telegraph Terrace at 5.20am.

Southern Watch Commander Adrian Kidney said no one was located at or nearby the scene.

“We’ve done checks on the vehicle which is still registered to a car yard,” he said.

“Inquires are still continuing to find the registered owner or the new owner of the vehicle and possible the driver.

“Speaking to members that have attended, it’s a miracle they actually survived the accident.

“It appears speed was probably a contributing factor where they’ve hit a tree and then landed up on the roof on a medium strip.

“There’s extensive damage. The car is actually nearly crushed.”
