POLICE have arrested a teenager in relation to an incident where a woman was struck in the face by an object he allegedly threw

A 17-YEAR-OLD male has been arrested in relation to an incident where a woman was struck in the face by an object he allegedly threw.
Southern Watch Commander Joshua Cunningham said police responded to a large youth disturbance out the front of Uncles Tavern on Gregory St, Alice Springs about 9pm on Saturday.

“The disturbance was quickly quelled but after speaking to a number of people and it was identified that a robbery had taken place shortly before the disturbance on the corner of Todd St and Stott Tce,” he said.
The male was arrested by members of Strike Force Viper on Monday and charged with one count each of assault and engage in violent.
It is alleged the male attempted to engage in a fight with a group people outside of Uncles Tavern.
It is further alleged during this incident he threw unknown objects which struck the woman, 31, to the face and a 25-year-old man to the chest, resulting in minor injuries.

Inquiries to identify others involved in the disturbance continue.
Police urge anyone who witnessed or have video footage of the initial robbery or disturbance to contact Crime Stoppers and reference 9557437 and provide any information they have.
