Casuarina Cougars celebrate NT Rugby Union 2023/24 premiership

After a nailbiting NTRU premiership win the Casuarina Cougars showed no sign of slowing down the celebrations on Mad Monday.

The Casuarina Cougars completed back to back NTRU A-grade premiership victories on Saturday and the team celebrated the accomplishment accordingly with the majority of the squad still going strong on Monday.

Captain Alani Malupo said it was a much deserved end to the season which saw them clinch the championship in thrilling style after the siren.

“Everyone is still on a high obviously,” he said. “We went hard all Saturday night and Sunday, I am just trying to recover, but most of these boys are still going.”

So, what celebrations have been bigger? This year or those following their 2022/23 win?

“This is bigger than last year,” Malupo said. “I’d definitely say bigger. Back to back is very hard to do.”
