A BURST water main has created a sinkhole at the Rapid Creek Road and Brooks Place intersection, trapping this motorist’s Toyota sedan up to its back axle.

A tow truck had to be called in to free the car from its watery predicament.

Police have put traffic diversions in place while Power and Water workers get the leak under control and make the road safe to travel on.

A police spokesman said it was expected that the traffic diversions will be in place for up to three hours.
