Motorists experienced long delays on Friday morning after the main access road to the Tablelands came to a standstill following a multi-car crash.

The three-vehicle crash on Palmerston Highway near Fishers Creek, Coorumba was reported to authorities just after 9.30am on November 15.

Department of Transport and Main Roads said all lanes in both directions on the main highway were blocked and advised motorists to expect long delays and to avoid the area where possible.

Queensland Traffic updated the status of the road to all lanes reduced and to proceed with caution just before 11am.

Queensland Fire Department and Queensland Ambulance Service were one scene, however, no one was injured in the crash and all parties declined treatment.

Traffic in both directions has returned to normal as of 1pm, according to QLD Traffic.
