An Airbnb guest staying at the Severin St house was lucky to escape the blaze with his two dogs unscathed.
According to a passerby at the scene of the fire, the occupant of the house put his phone on charge and went to have a shower when he heard a fire alarm go off.
By the time he went to fill a bucket of water and return to the power point flames had got a hold of the curtains and quickly engulfed a large section of the house.
“So he grabbed his two dogs and ran,” the witness said.
QFD has attached a fire investigator to the case.
