A Black Lives Matter vigil in Darwin drew crowds in the hundreds on Friday afternoon.
About 250 people attended Raintree Park, at the end of Smith St mall in the CBD, in solidarity with a growing global Black Lives Matter movement.
The recent series of global protests, vigils, and in some cases riots, were sparked by the death of US man George Floyd in the US city of Minneapolis.

The event page asked people to “join us in solidarity, against black deaths in custody”.
“Stand united against the injustices here in our own back yard and across the sea,” the event page stated.
“We have had multiple generations experiencing these same incidents too. Across our nation we rally and fight against these horrendous injustices.”
There have been at least 432 indigenous deaths in custody in Australia since 1991.
