A Red Centre politician who recently won her fourth term has taken to social media to share her husband is set to face court on a drink driving charge.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Araluen MLA Robyn Lambley said her husband, Craig Lambley, has been “charged with medium range drink driving in Alice Springs”.
The NT News understands he will first face court in October.
In her post, Ms Lambley said “there is no excuse for drink driving”, and said he will face court “in a few weeks”.
In the latest Territory election, Ms Lambley retained her seat in Araluen, which she holds as an Independent.
Commenting on the post, supporters commended Ms Lambley for her bravery in coming forward with the truth.
Mr Lambley and the Northern Territory police have been contacted for comment.
