An alleged Mongols bikie has been refused bail after a roadside stop by police on the Queensland-New South Wales border yielded a commercial quantity of MDMA, cocaine, cash and a knife.
Jake Biddle, 37, was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing DECCD (dedicated encrypted criminal communication device) to commit serious criminal activity, supplying a prohibited commercial quantity of drugs, recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime more than $5000 and having a knife in a public place.
Officers from the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad stopped a Ford ute on Gollan Dr, Tweed Heads West, at 9am on Thursday after spotting a defect on the vehicle.
Police allegedly seized a package under the drivers seat containing a large amount of MDMA pills along with more than $6,500 cash, a small amount of cocaine, a knife and multiple electronic devices.
The estimated street value of the drugs was $15,000.
Biddle was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.
He was refused bail at Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday and will face the same court on November 25.
