POLICE are investigating a bold break-in at an Alice Springs residence, where $2000 worth of vibrators, dildos, lube and lingerie was reported stolen.

Among the booty taken were eight 18-carat gold vibrator necklaces worth $125 each.

Gillen resident Dianne McRae, who runs a part-time business selling adult toys and lingerie, said that the sex toy swiper smashed through her front window on Tuesday morning and packed a pink suitcase with the adult arousers.

“It’s really disappointing,” she said.

“At first I was completely devastated because I thought that they had taken everything, but I discovered there was still a suitcase and a box of stock left behind, so that brought some immediate relief.

“It means I can still do my parties and generate an income, despite the fact that there was a heap of stuff that was gone.”

Ms McRae said she didn’t understand why the fake phallus filcher had stolen the goods.

“They took $500 worth – maybe more – of lubricant and arousal gel,” she said.

“They have obviously chosen to take it – they would have had to pick it up and put it in the suitcase, so I’m very curious as to what they were actually hoping for with that.

“I hope they’re out there having the time of their life, looking sexy in the lingerie and sporting eight 18-carat gold vibrator necklaces.”

Ms McRae, who has lived in Alice Springs for 13 years, said the lingerie liberator had left her “a little bit speechless”.

“I’ve always known that my products are good, but I’m seriously baffled as to what this person is going to do with a suitcase full of dildos,” she said.

“It’s a good reminder that you always have to be prepared for this kind of thing, and I’ve now gone out and bought a security camera.’

An NT Police spokesman said “investigations and inquiries are continuing”.
