A competition is set to kick off in Katherine and Alice Springs to help keep cafes busy during the quiet period, with two lucky residents set to be very well caffeinated.

Sounds like a deal that is too good to be true, but it will be the reality for two lucky coffee drinkers in both and Alice Springs.
The Morning Rush coffee competition is back for its second instalment in Katherine with Alice Springs getting involved for the first time this year.
The competition kicks off Thursday, February 1 and all people have to do is buy a coffee from a participating venue to go into the draw to win a three month supply of Joe.
Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Joel Bowden said the Morning Rush competition was a great incentive for coffee drinkers and coffee makers alike.
“Coffee culture is alive and well in the NT with Alice Springs and Katherine businesses holding their own in creating a great brew for their customers,” he said.
“The Morning Rush is a win-win for residents and businesses, providing a great incentive for locals to visit their favourite venue while also providing a bit of love and support for local businesses.”
The month-long competition not only aims to keep the lucky winner caffeinated for three months but also increase foot traffic in cafes at what can be a quiet time of the year.
The winners of the Katherine and Alice Springs competitions will be announced in early March, with the winners selecting their favourite cafe to collect their brew from.
A Morning Rush competition will also be held in Darwin for the second time this year with the details and dates to be announced at a later date.
