Entry fees have been set ahead of the opening of a new adventure park in the Red Centre capital, which will bring “something for everyone” the mayor of the council behind the project says.
Alice Springs Town Council Mayor Matt Paterson said the new adventure park – built at the Alice Springs aquatic and leisure centre – is “three weeks away from opening”.
“There will be mini golf, half-court basketball courts, playgrounds, table tennis, volleyball – there’s something for everyone,” he said.
The entry fees for the adventure park were adopted at the latest ordinary council meeting on September 24.
Council voted to cover entry into the adventure park as part of the $8 aquatic centre entry fee.
Pensioners, veterans, and students will continue paying $5 to enter the aquatic facility.
However, accessing the mini golf facilities will cost an extra $7 (or $5 for concession card users), paid upon entry to the park.
Entry for children under four is free while children aged five to 16 will be $5.
Construction of the park started in November 2023, with an exact opening date yet to be set.
MPH projects was awarded the $1.9 million contract to build the park in May last year.
