Newtown & Chilwell may be without its star forward after Lachlan Bond was offered a two-week ban for striking.

Bond was reported for striking South Barwon’s Todd White in the second quarter of their clash, and he was offered the set penalty of two weeks.

The Eagle forward has kicked 17 goals in six games, including two bags of five majors to start the season.

Bond missed round 4 because of Covid, and was held goalless on his return in round 5 before slotting two goals in each of the previous two games.

It was the only ban out of the GFL after St Joseph’s Joel O’Dwyer had his careless striking charges withdrawn and no suspensions were found out of a first quarter melee between St Albans and North Shore.

In the GDFL, Thomson will miss Daniel Freeman for the next two weeks after he was offered a two-week ban for rough conduct on Inverleigh’s Lachlan Buyel.

It was deemed Freeman engaged in a dangerous tackle in the third quarter, leading to the set penalty being offered.

Bannockburn’s Brett Harding was also offered a one-match suspension for carelessly striking North Geelong’s Dylan Fisher in the fourth quarter of their match.

In the BFL, Torquay and Queenscliff will pay $500 fines after the clubs engaged in a second-quarter melee.

$250 of the fines will be suspended until the end of the season.

Geelong Amateur and Ocean Grove will also be out of pocket for a spate of three separate melees during and at the end of the third quarter.

Both sides were fined $1250, with $750 to be suspended until the end of the season.

There were a total of 12 incidents noted for the MRP to review, but only five carried eventual suspensions or fines.
