GFL stats: Top ball winners, goal kickers in round 10 full statistic breakdown

Disposals

Geelong West duo Baxter Mensch and Noah Gribble seemed to have their own football against Bell Park in round 10.

Gribble recorded 45 disposals to lead the league for the round, while Mensch was not far behind with 41 himself.

It is the second time teammates have led a round in disposals this season, with Leopold’s Liam Herbert and Marcus Thompson topping the table in round 3.

It is also back-to-back 40+ disposal games for Gribble, who had 41 in the Giants’ win against North Shore.

Bell Park’s Lachie Patten also had 38 disposals in the same game, while Tanner Lovell had 36 for the Giants, meaning the top four disposal winners for the weekend all came from the match at Hamlyn Park.

North Shore’s Brad Gerrard had 33 disposals in the Seagulls’ close loss to South Barwon.

Marks

Colac’s Adam Garner took 11 marks to lead the league in a dominant performance.

Garner also slotted 3.4 in the Tigers’ win against Grovedale.

South Barwon’s Jack Driver, as well as Giants pair Noah Gribble and Tanner Lovell took 10 marks each in their respective games.

Grovedale’s Ryan Abbott, who returned from the VFL for his first GFL game of the season, recorded nine marks, as did Colac’s Darcy Lang and Jacob McGuane, Bell Park’s Nicholas Petering and Seagull Brad Gerrard.

Inside 50s

St Mary’s captain Jack Blood and Bell Park star Lachie Patten both recorded 11 inside 50s to lead the competition in round 10.

Patten’s teammate Hamish Lucas had nine inside 50s, while Colac’s Darcy Lang, Saint Jarryd Garner and Grovedale’s Will Jeffery had eight each.

Tackles

Seagull Noah Lever returned to the GFL for round 10 and laid 14 tackles in the close loss to South Barwon.

He tied Leopold’s Logan Wagener at the top of the tackling table for the round, while Wagener’s teammate Jack Dixon laid 12 himself.

Bell Park’s Jasper George had 11 tackles, while Lion captain Marcus Thompson and Swan Doyle Madigan had 10 each.

Hit Outs

Newtown & Chilwell ruck Cameron Wilkinson continued his dominant season, recording 63 hit outs to lead the competition.

His game against St Joseph’s set a season-high for the competition, and boosted his season average to more than 39 hit outs per game.

Grovedale’s Ryan Abbott returned from Geelong’s VFL side and recorded 54 hit outs in his first GFL game of the season.

South Barwon’s Luke Davis had 38 hit outs in another strong game for the Swans, while Giant Tylar Watts had 36 hit outs against Bell Park.

Goals

Multiple players kicked four goals to lead the competition for the round, with Bell Park’s Nicholas Petering kicking 4.4 against Geelong West.

Grovedale’s Mitch Chafer had 4.3 in another strong performance, while North Shore’s Mitch Langan and St Joseph’s Oliver Hanneysee both had four straight in their respective games.

St Albans’ Brock McDonald also had four goals, as did Lara’s Dylan Jose.
