A driver has been slammed for making up their own car parking spot outside a Melbourne Bunnings.
In a photo shared to a Facebook group calling out bad drivers, the sedan can be seen parked on a road within the carpark – right next to a spare carpark space.
The moment was captured in Cranbourne between Bunnings and Mexican restaurant Guzman y Gomez.
The car was stopped between the line of a real carpark space on the right and an arrow directing traffic on the left.
However, it does appear that perhaps where the driver was stopped was once a parking spot, with faint lines visible.
That didn’t stop fellow Melburnians in the comments of the post ripping in to the driver for the “dangerous” and “frustrating” park.
“Omg are they serious? Police should fine them, it’s dangerous and they clearly shouldn’t be on our roads,” wrote one person.
“Frightening to think they actually drive on our roads,” said another.
It turned out the photo had not captured a one-off mistake. Many locals said the odd park happened frequently.
“One time I was right behind a guy parking there. Took a couple of beeps before he realised it wasn’t a park,” one man said.
“It’s so frustrating plus there is always parking there so there is no need to do dumb s***” added someone else.
“I suppose it’s kinda an odd spot to have arrows. If you go there you’ll understand, although it’s pretty clear,” offered another person.
One woman shared a photo of a car parked in the exact same spot just a couple of days later.
“What I really don’t understand is that the spaces next to it were free both times!” one person wrote in response.
