The moment a driver screamed at a motorcyclist to “die” during a terrifying road rage incident has been caught on camera.
The video, which was posted on TikTok by @TravelingBikerBabe, shows the woman staying calm as her night-time ride took a turn for the worst.
The motorcyclist, a New Zealand woman who is currently based in Australia, noted in the TikTok caption about the driver: “He was big mad”.
This became clear when the man was seen in the bodycam video leaning out of his car window as he yelled profanities at the motorcyclist: “F**ing stick up people’s asses. F***ing stick up my ass. Come here c***. F***ing die, die!”.
The motorcyclist did not respond as he raged on. He then stuck up his middle finger as he sped off, taking a left turn in his white vehicle while the rider continued straight ahead.
She then showed footage taken prior to the road rage moment, explaining that she overtook him and then the driver sped up to overtake her.
Then, when he slowed down, she overtook him again. Later, she claimed he undercut her at an intersection and went around her and proceeded to brake checked her so she passed him again.
After the incident, the woman decompressed with her passenger, seemingly in shock about what had happened.
“That was f***ing insane, I’ve never had anyone scream at me before,” she exclaimed as she lifted up her visor. “Holy s**t.”
“He was f**ing angry at you, he was proper pissed” her companion agreed, as they put their arms around her.
“He could have just let me go and that would have been it, but no he had to like, get in front of me, make me slow down to make me pass him again” she said in disbelief at what had just occurred.
Followers of the motorcyclist on TikTok praised her for her calm response to the situation.
“The worst thing you can do in a road rage incident is respond,” one commenter wrote. “In any way. It does the opposite of helping. So, good on ya for not doing that.”
Another agreed: “Some people … handled it well good on ya girls.”
“That’s terrible, glad you’re safe,” a third said.
While another follower said they recognised the scene of the incident.
“Melbourne without even looking it up.”
When asked if she was Australian, the biker responded: “In Aussie but I’m kiwi through and through”.
On the flip side, some did back up the driver, however the rider was quick to explain what really went on.
“I’d probably guess it was cause you moved over pretty soon to get back in front of him I always tend to leave some more space so people don’t feel like I’m cutting them off regardless of if I’m in car,” a commenter wrote.
To which she responded: “I was going pretty quick when I passed him so it looks like I pulled in faster than I did. He was also complaining about me sitting on his ass not cutting him off.”
