'You're kidding!': People have discovered yet another hidden trolley feature

Yep, apparently, years of squished tomatoes and bruised bananas could have been avoided with this simple hack.

Top 10 Grocery Shopping Hacks You Need to Know!

People have stumbled across a social media post that has left them questioning their entire grocery shopping experience.

It appears that supermarket trolleys have a hidden feature most of us have completely missed (and no, it’s not the hook on the back of the trolley to hold your bag, that’s old trolley news).

We're talking about the hooks INSIDE your trolleys.

Don’t know what we mean? They’ve been in front of us this entire time...

"Multiple people stop me and say OMG, never knew!"

You know that internal basket/child seat thing at the back of your trolleys?

Well, it actually has little round hooks on the edges that serve a very useful purpose once you know what they’re for.

That’s right - they’re not just finger torture devices for your small kids to stick their hands in.

According to one shopper who shared her tip in a supermarket-related Facebook group, they’re actually to hang produce bags containing delicate items.

Her post, which has since gone viral, shows four plastic bags neatly hanging on the hooks, containing various fruit and veggies.

She captioned her post: “Ok, I can't be the only one who knows what these hooks are for?!

“EVERY SINGLE time I get groceries, multiple people stop me and say OMG, never knew! So, you’re welcome.”

"I was adulting wrong"

Commenters were suitably shocked, with one saying, “I was today years old when I learned that this was a thing.”

“Going to try this next time,” said someone else, while a third wrote, “I had no idea.”

“Game changer!” claimed another group member.

“My OCD will be happy now!” admitted one woman. “I was adulting wrong,” chimed in someone else.

“Ooooh, I’ll also use it to hang my roast chook so it doesn’t warm up other items,” one user shared.

However, not everyone was as impressed with the post, with some claiming that “that’s not what they’re for.”

“I think it’s just the design of the trollies,” pointed out one skeptic.

And another thought they were “guides to keep the trolley straight when stacking them.”

Whatever their intended purpose, we still think this is a nifty little hack. So, if you'll excuse us, we have some trolleys to re-examine and shopping to do.
