QUEENSLANDERS have been the Northern Territory’s top source of arrivals since borders reopened on July 17.
NT Health data obtained by the NT News shows 73,312 people have arrived in the NT since July 17 by yesterday.
Of those arrivals, 26 per cent (19,060) were from Queensland, 25 per cent (18,617) from South Australia, eight per cent (6178) were from NSW, four per cent (3062) from Victoria, five per cent (3518) from Western Australia, 0.5 per cent (412) from Tasmania and one per cent (735) from the ACT.
Territory residents returning home to the NT made up 22 per cent (16,192) of the arrivals.
There have been more than 2500 overseas arrivals in the NT since April, according to the latest data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Top End tourism operators have this week been preparing to welcome back visitors from Greater Sydney who will no longer need to quarantine when they enter the NT from October 9.

Cooinda in Kakadu recently decided to open its Outback Retreat glamping tents for the first time since March.
