“It’s been a really positive initiative from the government and certainly it’s helped motivate people to get out of the house and have an experience on Darwin Harbour,” he said.
“Because we’re a new product we’re a bit exciting and no one’s done it before so our forward bookings are quite solid. But without the vouchers we wouldn’t have been as strong.”
Every eligible Territorian who registered for the waitlist in Round Two received a voucher, with the total number of vouchers distributed to Territorians as part of the popular COVID-19 stimulus at 39,355.
Tourism Minister Natasha Fyles said the vouchers had been a huge success among Territorians.
“Tourism has been hard hit by COVID-19, we know 2020 was tough, stimulus schemes like vouchers provide lifelines for some businesses who have done been impacted this past year,” she said.

“We made a number of changes to the scheme between round one and two to ensure we maximised the amount of Territorians who could access a voucher – and having nearly 40000 Territorians receive a round two voucher shows this was a success.”
