'Selling like hotcakes': Mums are losing it over $59 Kmart play mat

It's a dupe for the much pricier Neptune Mellow Mat, which retails for $199.

Insane difference between Kmart denim shorts for boys and girls

If you've been searching for a cozy and affordable play mat for your little one but can't justify splurging on high-end options, today’s your lucky day.

Kmart has just released its latest baby product, which offers a stylish yet budget-friendly alternative to a popular $199 premium mat — for just $59!

Kmart Mums Australia group member recently shared a post about her amazing find at her local Kmart, and it sent fellow mums into a frenzy.

“Just spotted Kmart Redbank Plaza in Ipswich. It's real y'all, not a fairytale lol,” she wrote, along with a photo of Kmart's Soft Play Mat.

Kmart's viral soft play mat

Kmart’s super soft, slip-resistant play mat offers a comfortable and safe play area for babies and toddlers.

It also features a soft polyester surface with a polyurethane filling for extra comfort.

The mat, which currently comes in pink and grey, is 200cm long and 150cm wide, making it the perfect size for infants to crawl and explore.

Weighing just over 3kg, it’s also easy to move around and clean, a.k.a, it ticks all the boxes.

But the real draw for many parents is that this mat is a dupe for the much pricier Neptune Mellow Mat, which retails for around $199.

Side note: The mat regains its shape within 48-72 hours after unpacking, so a little patience might be required after pulling it out from the box!

"Selling like hotcakes"

One shopper begged in the comments of the post, “Would someone buy me one and I’ll pay for it plus postage!”

Another echoed: “Want one of these so bad… Living rural, all the stores within two hours of me are K-Hub stores not Kmart.”

Some lucky shoppers said they managed to find stock, while others continued their search. “I just got a pink one,” said one mum, while another person chimed in: “I just got one from Morayfield Kmart, they have about 10 on the shelves, grey and pink.”

Then this shopper replied, “They’re selling like hotcakes!”

If you’ve been struggling to find the mat online or in-store due to low or no stock, don't fret, there’s good news.

Kmart confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that they are addressing the issue.

A spokesperson shared, “This one has quickly become a customer favourite, and the team are working hard in the background to restock soon.”
