AFTER a high-stakes search for the NT’s best brunch, Laneway Specialty Coffee in Parap has been crowned the winner.

Laneway owner Lisa Heames attributes the cafe’s popularity to the people who work there.

“The people is the secret ingredient. We love what we do,” she said.

“We love hospitality and it think it shows with our staff and the care taken and love put into our food and coffee.”

Ms Heames said Laneway aims to make sure their menu is kept fresh and caters to everyone.

“We use fresh produce and local produce where we can, and we have a fresh seasonal menu that we try to change a little bit with the seasons,” she said.

And, her favourite item on the menu? “The organic hot cake!” Ms Heames said.
