THE remaining Diamond Princess cruise ship coronavirus evacuees are set to go home today after spending 14 days in isolation at the former Inpex workers’ camp in Howard Springs.
The evacuees were the second large group of Australians repatriated from overseas and taken to the Howard Springs camp to be quarantined.
The first group came from China while the evacuees from the cruise ship were evacuated from the cruise ship where it was moored in Yokohama, Japan.
The group of between 150 to 160 will be flown to their homes states by charter plane this morning.
Of the original Diamond Princess group, 10 tested positive to coronavirus while in quarantine at Howards Springs. All were immediately medevacced to their home states for further treatment.
Six of those 10 have since recovered from, and been cleared of the virus, and returned to their homes.

One man, James Kwan, 78, died in Perth’s Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital on Sunday morning. Mr Kwan’s wife is also infected and remains in hospital.
