CALLING Rapid Creek home, Master­Chef Australia hopeful Minoli De Silva is calling on Territorians to support her on her quest for culinary success through this year’s competition.

Having participated in MasterChef Australia’s 2021 auditions as the only representative from the NT, De Silva used her Sri Lankan heritage, influenced from the iconic Rapid Creek Markets, to try and earn a spot on the show.

“I grew up in Melbourne but moved to the Territory just over three years ago and definitely feel like Rapid Creek is home,” she said.

“Practising in the lead-up to the auditions I’d go to the Rapid Creek Markets because I lived around the corner. The produce at the markets is exceptional, when I’d go back to Melbourne to visit it was just not the same.”
