THE crocodile that gave Mindil Beach Sunset Markets goers a sunset surprise on Sunday was also seen lurking there hours earlier when dog lovers were taking their four-legged friends for a walk along the beach.
Nicole Wallace was walking her dog Lilypup with her friends and three other dogs when they noticed the 1.5m crocodile edging closer to the shore, deciding it was best to err on the side of caution.
“This is the first time I’ve seen one there … it was just sitting there, quite far out when we first got there but it just moved closer and we thought we should move the dogs away from the water’s edge, they might make a nice breakfast,” she said.

“It is quite cool but it’s a nice reminder we should be more vigilant in letting our dogs in the water.”
