New cast of The Real Housewives of Sydney revealed

Strap in, because we’re in for a rocky ride. 

After months of speculation, the new cast of The Real Housewives of Sydney has finally been announced.

In a Stellar magazine exclusive, it has been revealed that newbies Sally Obermeder, Terry Biviano, Caroline Gaultier, Victoria Montano and Kate Adams, plus returning Housewives Krissy Marsh and Nicole O’Neil, are the seven women fronting the cast in the reimagined BINGE reality TV series.

Getting to know the cast and getting over their critics

The new-look ensemble posed for a stunning cover shoot for today’s Stellar, where they were photographed together as a group for the first time.

In the accompanying interview, the women each dish about getting to know each other, getting along and getting over their critics.

“If you get the opportunity to have an adventure, why wouldn’t you jump in?” says Obermeder, 49, a TV journalist who most recently hosted The Daily Edition.

“In life, there are people who absolutely love you and there are people who won’t love you. You’re not going to resonate with everyone; that’s not the point. It’s not the desired outcome or something you’re trying to achieve.”

Biviano, 48, will also bring her style and sass to the series. The shoe designer and wife of NRL legend Anthony Minichiello says none of the cast is comparing themselves to past or present Housewives who have appeared in local or overseas productions. For her, there’s no competition and this new cast can hold its own.

“We are not looking at any other Housewives – or any other franchise – to be any particular character,” she tells Stellar. “We are literally much more interesting and fabulous than anyone else who has ever appeared.”

And while Biviano promises confrontations are on the horizon, she says camaraderie is too.

“Obviously, we are all very strong, opinionated women. And different. So, of course, we’re going to butt heads,” she tells Stellar. “But I think the main thing is, it’s about resolution. We are dealing with everyday stuff that most women are going through, no matter whether you live in Sydney or Toowoomba.”

The housewife who has never seen an episode before

Another newcomer to the group, Sydney socialite Caroline Gaultier, says she’ll have no problem running her own race as she’s never watched the Housewives franchise prior to filming.

“I’ve never seen a single Housewives episode. I never understood why people watched it,” Gaultier admits. “A lot of my friends are super fans. So I came in quite blindly and I wanted to keep it that way. I didn’t want to have any preconceived notions; I wanted this to happen organically.”

However, two people who will be familiar with the series are Krissy Marsh and Nicole O’Neil, who both appeared in the controversial first season of RHOS back in 2017.

“Krissy and I had a great time doing it. We would look at each other and be like, ‘This is a pinch-me moment.’ Which is why I decided to come back,” says O’Neil.

“Plus, it’s the largest TV franchise in the world. Why would we not want to be part of something that’s so incredible? It’s a sliding doors moment. You either walk through or you stay on the other side.”

“We have all walked through and we have had an amazing adventure. Why would I tell my children to take chances in life and not take them myself?”

As for critics labelling the franchise fake, newcomer Kate Adams – a leading Bondi vet – has this to say to them: “This is 100 per cent real. There’s real emotion and we don’t take direction from people. We are just who we are.”

Fellow newbie Victoria Montano, a lifestyle consultant, says she never pays attention to trolls.

“You have to read the comments to know what the trolls are saying, and no one has time for that,” she says.
