My baby is just 3 weeks old but is on track to be a millionaire

"You can do it too," the mum said, after sharing her genius strategy to set her daughter up for life.

How I'm turning my baby into a millionaire

We all want to give our kids the best chance at life, but one investing guru and mum has taken that to the next level, putting money aside in her newborn's name the day she was born.

Sydney-based couple Queenie Tan, 27, a.k.a @investwithqueenie and her fiancé Pablo Bizzini, 32, say they invested $1000 when their daughter Gia was born, and they plan to do so every year of her life.

They said they would also supplement this with any monetary gifts from friends and family while she was young. Then, when she's a bit older, they will give her 50 per cent of any present money and invest the rest.

Using this strategy, they believe that by the time Gia is 18, she will have approximately $41,000, and by 65, she will have $1.8 million, assuming a yearly return of eight per cent based on their chosen portfolio.

"That is the power of compound interest"

In an Instagram video, Queenie, a licensed personal finance content creator, said that she is using Pearler, an app designed for parents to invest in their kids.

She said, "I set up an investing account for [Gia] under our family trust. The day she was born, I invested $1000 into ETFs in this account," adding that the ETFs include a US ETF (called VTS) and a Global ETF (VEU).

Queenie says that Gia will be a millionaire in her sixties "without having to invest a dollar" herself, provided she doesn't touch the money until then.

"And I would have only had to invest $19,000 - that is the power of compound interest," she adds. "You can do it too."

"Help make her life easier when she's older"

Speaking to FEMAIL, Queenie said: "Investing is a great way to ensure our money is worth more over time rather than eaten away by inflation - and the rising cost of living."

"That's why I've started investing for her, so she has a head start when she's a young adult.

"I still want her to enjoy all the wonderful things money can do in the present (like fun experiences), but I also want to show her that investing it in assets can help make her life easier when she's older."

"Yes!! Setting up your family for success!" a fan praised Queenie in the comments of the clip.

"Going to do this for my daughter too," a fellow mum wrote.

Someone else concluded: "This is super thoughtful. Gia is going to be raised so well!"
