George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens in full bloom for annual open day

The George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens has its annual open day on today from 8am-1pm.

THE George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens has an open day today from 8am-1pm.

The annual event is a celebration and recognition of the important role botanic gardens play in our lives and communities and is held in conjunction with more than 100 botanic gardens from around Australia and New Zealand.

Director Bryan Harty said the open day would have something for everyone.

“This includes the ever-popular annual Friends of Darwin Botanic Gardens plant sale, guided walks, a series of free talks, animal encounters, musical entertainment, food and drinks stalls and fun and information for kids and adults alike,” he said.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to chat with experts about your own garden and gain some design inspiration during the guided walks or talks.”
