One of the world’s most revered music festivals is about to kick off for its final day, but it's the outfits of two Australians that has everyone talking.
Brittney Saunders, the founder of Fayt the Label, and comedian Matt Hey attended the second weekend of Coachella, in California.
The music festival line up included Charli XCX, Lady Gaga and T-Pain but it was the pair’s Bunnings’ style outfits that caused a stir.
The duo were hinting at a big splash for the final day at the festival, with Matt taking to Instagram to post: “Day two is over, which means tomorrow we have to wear Brittney’s outfits she picked.”
The pair posted a video kitted out in a Bunnings Warehouse uniform. Both of the content creators wore the brand’s signature oversized red polo shirt, tan shorts and a green apron folded over. Brittney wore a green bucket hat while Matt wore the iconic oversized straw hat.
There were two other people with Brittney and Matt — including Brittney’s partner AJ — and the duo also embraced the Bunnings theme.
Brittney told news.com.au: “We just wanted to do something different and iconic for our last day outfits. We’ve seen so many influencers show the fun/pretty/glam side of Coachella, so why not go rogue and do something funny and iconic you know?
“Bunnings is an Australian staple and it proves that comedy will always out perform perfection on socials! It also totally fits mine and Matt’s brand/our podcast High Scrollers just being our true unapologetic selves! Very on brand for us.”
Obviously, social media has an explosive reaction to the outfit.
“I’m actually so into this,” one social media user commented.
Another said: “Best dressed @ Coachella.”
“You didn’t just nail this — you beat it by 10 per cent,” one added.
One social media user commented: “PLEASE FIND A SNAG, the outfit isn’t complete.”
“It’s better than I could have imagined,” another said.
One social media user said: “I don’t know what I was expecting but it was not this. Nailed it!”
“This is the most incredible iconic thing you could of done. Best outfit ever,” one added.
Even Bunnings chimed in, commenting; “It must be Fayt.”
A spokesperson from the brand told news.com.au: “We’re flattered to see the Bunnings look hitting Coachella — it’s not our first rave rodeo after all! We love seeing Aussies’ love for Bunnings, and the creative ways they have fun with it.
“Our uniform is an important part of who we are at Bunnings however, and we do ask that it’s worn with respect.”
And, even though Americans would have no idea what Bunnings Warehouse was, the duo were already getting compliments before they even set food on the festival grounds.
“The housekeeping lady just said ‘I like your outfit’ and I said thanks, explained it was for a hardware store in Australia,” Brittney said.
“She just complimented it without even knowing what we were dressed up as.”
But the pair did concede that the housekeeper explained people likely wouldn’t get it, but said it was mostly for people back home.
