Football NT chief executive Bruce Stalder said players and supporters would all benefit from a more flexible training and playing schedule at Bagot Oval.
“It’s a bunch of kids in their thousands playing here on Sunday at 8 o’clock in the morning,” he said.
“When we schedule these games I’m often scheduling 10- and 12-year-olds at 1 in the afternoon in that heat and humidity so this is an absolute Godsend for us, to be able to play and train at night.
“(Spectators) will stay here longer as well if games are out of the heat of the day.”
