VOYAGE arcade will be transformed into a hub of activity this Friday as The Laneway Series returns to Darwin.
All locals are invited to sail with the smooth winds of live music, delicious food, local art and oodles of activities for the kids when the free event kicks of from 4pm.
Steering the ship at the mini-festival, which is part of a government initiative from October 2018 to June 2019 to activate CBD laneways and arcades, are local artists Melanie Gray and DJ Ash Blenkinsop, who will be providing the tunes in the cool airconditioning of the Voyage Arcade.
It’s the food and cocktails, however, that provide the main drawcard for the voyage, with fine fare from Three Mums Kitchen and Sumatra Cafe, as well as Darwin’s newest whiskey bar, Uncle Tony’s, offering beer, wine, cocktails and whiskey
Dessert will be served by the team from Johnn Johnn’s Gelato with their new mobile gelato truck in the Smith Street Mall.
After you’ve eaten be sure to check out the art interaction stall with local creative genius Polly Johnson.
And if the kids aren’t into large murals, then Hyper the Clown will be on hand with activities to entertain all ages, including a circus trick and balloon workshop where kids can watch how balloon animals are made, learn how to create their own and take them home, too.
Free parking will be available in West Lane Carpark from 3-11pm
