A tropical wonderland of arts, music and magic will take over the Top End later this year, as Darwin Festival returns bigger than ever.
From August 10-27 Darwin city heart is expected to buzz with theatre shows, free music gigs, buzzing bars, local food vendors and the cheeky delights of a world-class cabaret sensation.
Among the many acts yet to be announced, Festival director Kate Fell revealed two showstopping delights.
She said Blanc De Blanc Encore would show off their flair, spectacular aerials, and sparkling comedy to the Spiegeltent, while a new pop-up bar would combine illusions with intoxication.
Ms Fell said the Maho Magic Bar would also be making its debut in Darwin, with the “unique” show combining close-up magic with cocktails.
”We are sure this year’s Festival will deliver an unforgettable experience for both locals and
visitors alike,” she said.
“Each night, you can experience exhilarating circus, music, comedy and cabaret acts on the Inpex Sunset Stage.”
Ms Fell said the 17-day festival was expanding to new locations, with the Festival Park Precinct to spill onto the lawns outside Parliament House, while the Spiegeltent was returning after a four years hiatus.
Ms Fell encouraged people to sign up as a Friend of the Festival to gain two-day priority booking period following the Program Launch.
