They’re two of the world’s most beloved drag queens, but Courtney Act has finally revealed whether there’s truth behind her rumoured long-running feud with RuPaul.

Act rose to fame on Australian Idol before achieving international fame on season six of RuPaul’s Drag Race, but unlike many stars of the reality show, she has never made a return on a subsequent season.

When quizzed on whether there was still a rift with RuPaul, Act told Brooke Blurton and Matty Mills on the most recent episode of First Things First, that they haven’t spoken in quite some time.

“I don’t know … I mean, there’s never been … I’m definitely on, like, the bad kids’ list,” Act said.

“I’m off the Christmas card list,” she revealed. “Although I did make it back on, there is a literal Christmas card list. I remember I wasn’t on it for years, and then all of a sudden, I got my world of wonder, like, block of RuPaul chocolate and a Christmas card, and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m back on the Christmas card list!’”

Act went on to confess that producers have never approached to return to the show, even after many fans argued that she should have been in line to host Drag Race Down Under.

“No, I’ve never been approached,” insisted the singer. “I really loved being on Drag Race and being there and filming it is like the most fun... it was such a golden era of Drag Race.”

“The personalities were amazing. It was fun to film it, but there’s something about going back for me. There’s a certain amount of control that you give over to the editors in telling your story and your narrative.”

She went on to open up about the impact being on the show had on her personally at the time it was airing.

Act said that the way she was portrayed on the show didn’t always feel true to who she was as a person.

“I feel that, like I’ve gone back and watched Drag Race season six. At the time, it was like peak Twitter,” Act said.

“I remember waking up every morning and there was like, nuanced characterisations about me that was sort of portrayed on the show that I didn’t feel aligned with who I was. I kind of got sucked into the comment section, like, I’d wake up every morning, literally, the first hour and the last hour of every day was scrolling the comments and then, like, replying to people trying to, like, make them love me.”
