Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyer has offered a bizarre explanation as to why the disgraced music mogul had 1000 bottles of lube at his home.

The copious collection of lubricant and baby oil was discovered after federal agents raided Combs’ mansions in Miami and Los Angeles in March, and forms part of the prosecution’s case against the US rapper, who was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution last Monday.

But Combs’ lawyer has attempted to play down the lewd find by suggesting the rapper, who Forbes estimated in 2022 had a net wealth of $US1 billion, buys in bulk at retail giant Costco like many other Americans.

“I don’t think it was 1000 [bottles] … I think it was a lot. I mean, there is a Costco right down the street. I think Americans buy in bulk, as we know,” his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told New York Post.

He continued, “And you know these are consensual adults doing what consensual adults do, you know, we can’t get so puritanical in this country to think that somehow sex is a bad thing because if it was there would be no more people.”

As of June this year, Forbes reduced its estimation of Combs’ net wealth to $US400 million.

According to the unsealed grand jury indictment which surfaced last week, officers uncovered “various Freak Off supplies, including narcotics and more than 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant” during the raids at Combs’ properties earlier this year.

Combs, 54, is alleged to have led the so-called ‘Freak Offs’, in which he’s accused of forcing female victims into days-long sexual performances - part of an alleged pattern of abuse dating back more than a decade.

“Freak Offs were elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded,” the unsealed court papers alleged.

Combs would allegedly lure the women into his orbit — often under the pretence of a romantic relationship – before doling out drugs to “keep the victims obedient and compliant,” the indictment states.

At the time of his arrest, Agnifilo condemned charges brought against Combs, describing the outcome as “unjust”.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney’s Office,” he said.

“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the black community.”

Combs is currently behind bars at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after his bail was refused for a second time last week, where could remain for up to a year until his trial begins.

He was reportedly placed on suicide watch shortly after his bail hearing.

Sources told People the decision was made for “preventive measures as Combs is in shock and his mental state is unclear.”

Suicide watch is defined as “supervisory precautions taken for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation,” according to the US Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections.
