Prince Harry is set to be a bigger problem for the royal family than disgraced Prince Andrew for one reason, a royal expert and author has claimed.

Prince Harry poses a “bigger problem” for the British monarchy than disgraced Prince Andrew, a royal expert and author has claimed.

Former editor of Vanity Fair and author of a bombshell book on the Royal Family, Tina Brown, said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pose the biggest threat to the Firm’s future.

Speaking to Bloomberg‘s In The City podcast, Ms Brown discussed the condition of the monarchy in the year Britain celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, her 70th year on the throne.

“The Prince Andrew issue has been ring-fenced, making Harry a bigger problem for the monarchy,” she said.

“I think Harry is a bit more of a problem because you never quite know what he‘s going to do next. He keeps them all on the back foot wondering where the bombs come from.”

Ms Brown‘s statements were made in reference to the revelations made by Prince Harry after he stepped down as an official working royal with Meghan Markle in 2020.

In March 2021, the couple sat down for a landmark interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The pair made several claims including that an unnamed member of the royal family made racially insensitive comments about the skin colour of the couple’s future children, and they felt that they received no support from the royal family or household when they admitted to struggling with the media.

However, the biggest concern for the royals, is Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir which is set to be released by the end of the year.

A press release made at the time of the book‘s announcement stated that Harry’s intention to write “not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”

He also stated that the publication will detail “the highs and lows, the mistakes,” and ”the lessons learned” throughout his life. How many of these will relate to the royal family and how much the prince chooses to reveal is yet to be seen.

Ms Brown also described the Duke of York’s recent sexual assault lawsuit as “not enhanced the gravitas of the crown”.

The 62-year-old paid a reported $20 million settlement to Jeffrey Epstein victim Ms Roberts Giuffre to end a highly-damaging civil sexual assault case in New York.

He was forced to step back from public life over his association with the dead billionaire, Epstein. The prince denied the allegations, although he stepped down from his official role and patronages.

However, despite the prince denying the allegations and stepping down from his official role, Ms Brown said Prince Andrew appearing at his father’s memorial was “distressing”.
