Aussie girl next door turned international pop powerhouse Kylie Minogue is showing it really is a case of Better The Devil You Know on her Tension Tour.
A mystery fan even got the chance to get up close and personal when she confided in Kylie after sharing a moment with her on stage.
Minogue’s stirring rendition of Confide In Me touched everyone at her Adelaide Entertainment Centre gig, but only one fan got to hug the superstar.
Spotted in the crowd by Minogue, the girl was invited up on stage where they shared an embrace.
Overcome at meeting her idol, the girl spoke to Minogue who had turned her microphone off.
After their encounter, Minogue, who was clearly moved by what the girl shared with her, told the crowd that what was said would remain between them.
Minogue, who became a household name playing mechanic Charlene on soapie Neighbours in the mid 1980s, turned her talents to music in 1987 when she released a chart-topping cover of Little Eva’s The Loco-Motion.
The hits kept coming, along with global tours – the 16th of which started in Perth on Saturday – and, judging by her performance in Adelaide on Tuesday night, she has no plans of slowing down.
Six years on from her March 2019 Golden Tour at Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Minogue was on a high, literally – making her grand entrance on a giant swing inside a diamond laser light installation.
Wearing a gown covered in mirrored silver sequins, she shone like a disco ball – kicking off the show with a new song, Lights Camera Action.
What followed was everything concert goers have come to expect from Minogue: two hours of non-stop, high-energy entertainment.
Celebrating her career to date in charming and at times cheeky fashion, Minogue, who was supported by three brilliant back-up singers, showed her versatility as a vocalist and performer.
Telling the audience “I love you” and encouraging them to sing along from the get-go, Minogue was in the driver’s seat for The Loco-Motion – a playful romp that united the close to full-house of fans spanning generations.
She made Jazzy P’s rap in Shocked her own, stripped back the raw murder ballad Where The Wild Roses Grow even further, by choosing to run with an a a cappella rendition, and even dared to take requests singing a few bars of each.
There were Minogue’s outfit changes, cutting-edge video backdrops, dancers in various artistic costumes performing stylised choreographed numbers and ticker tape confetti galore, but what was arguably the show’s biggest moment came without the bells and whistles.
As her 1994 hit Confide In Me reached its conclusion, Minogue showed she has operatic chops; her dramatic delivery stunning the crowd.
Closing with her mega hit Padam Padam, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head and All The Lovers – followed by Tension and Love at First Sight for the encore – Minogue never ran out of steam, leaving everyone on a high.
She has 68 more dates locked in for the Tension Tour which is scheduled to wrap up in August in Mexico. Next stop is Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Thursday and Friday.
